Self Employed with no Health Insurance? We may have an alternative for you…
Our family has always paid into a traditional insurance company. Being self employed business owners, our traditional high deductible plan was less than ideal. After suffering a large medical bill in 2023 and seeing that the high fees we had been paying for years for emergency medical coverage actually covered nothing, we decided to part ways with traditional medical insurance. One of our doctors recommended “Christian Health Sharing”. We were curious and looked into it and after reading more and more about it, we decided this could be exactly what we needed!
We joined Samaritan Ministries in January 2024 and have already had 2 claims that were successfully paid out! The process was easy and the feeling of hope was restored. You see, we make payments every month directly to members who are in need. The feeling that I get when I send a card with words of encouragement and a check made out directly to the person in need is such a good feeling. And being in receipt of checks that come in with beautiful cards and encouraging heartfelt words of scripture brings tears to my eyes. No more paying into a greedy multibillion dollar insurance industry!
I encourage you to look into this new way of helping to cover medical costs. Our family of 3 spends less than $400 a month with a $1500 limit out of pocket per need. That means that if I hurt my knee, and I have surgery, I get reimbursed everything above the $1500. That need remains open so if I have additional doctors appointments and surgeries related to that injury, the $1500 has already been met so the rest continues to be covered. They even help you to negotiate better cash rates!
- Samaritan Ministries is authentic Christian community.
- There are no networks, anywhere. You choose the providers you trust.
- You send your money to a real person with a real medical need (not some large corporation).
- Samaritan staff cares for you through Christ-centered compassionate service.
- And the best of all…your why! “What I love about Samaritan Ministries is sending my payments to a real person in need and not to an insurance company.”
A few things to note… you must be a Christian and have someone vouch for you. You must attend church on a regular basis. Previous existing conditions are not covered BUT if something new develops because of a previous condition, that IS covered.
